Volunteering Works
(October 2007)

Volunteering Works is the Institute for Volunteering Research and Volunteering England’s latest publication. Published in October 2007, it explores the impact of volunteering on government policies and agendas at the local, regional and national level throughout England. The report discusses the part volunteering can play in helping government work towards and achieve its priorities and objectives. It presents existing evidence from research, reports and evaluations that demonstrates this positive impact and relevance. This publication is the first such assembly of this information in one place and provides a foundation for anyone wishing to establish the relevance of volunteering.

At the launch of the Commission we invited people to share with us their vision for volunteering by completing the following phrases:

'My vision for volunteering is ….'
'I would like the Commission to consider ….'
